Nice atmosphere with a central location

Great location for walking the city. Comfortable bed. Nicely appointed boutique room — love the eclectic mix of furniture. Room was very clean. We opened the windows at night to enjoy the coolness. The restaurant was terrific.

Our bad — we asked for a higher up level room. Ours had a dormer in a slanted ceiling. Problematic for my 6’2” husband but easy to pay attention to an not whack his head. The room was lovely. Just dont ask for top floor if you’re tall!!

Locate just a minute walk from train station, Central of city. Very convenient. Food, shops, tram easily accessible.

No staff in reception in the morning. I checked out at 7am and needed to leave luggages in hotel but find nobody. End up found the staff in restaurant by the hotel to help.

We had the room at the top of the stairs on the first floor, so we heard plates clanking from the restaurant downstairs. The window curtain was positioned so you have to cover the TV to get the room dark. Bathroom needs attention. When we told them this, they said they already know.

Townhouse Hotel was one of the closest hotels to Zurich's main train station, just off Bahnhofstrasse, but provided a quiet room. I loved the hotel cafe wrapping around the reception on the street level. If your room wasn't ready or you just wanted a quiet rest, the cafe provided get table service. The staff were very welcoming. Cafe staff would check in to see if you needed anything, but if you did not want to be bothered they would leave you be. Cafe prices were competitive/average. The cafe level is decorated with plush velvet couches and chairs; plus a high table top area good for a laptop. Upstairs, the rooms were tasteful and well-decorated. My room had a queen bed with a high padded headboard, a desk, two Queen-Anne style armchairs, TV, dresser, safe, bathroom, and a hanging rack for coats. It was not difficult to find an outlet to plug in my phone charger. The bed had a fitted bottom sheet instead of flat, which is worth a star in itself. The room was equipped with a hot-pot, tea bags and Nescafe, and the tea/coffee supplies were refilled every day. The bathroom shower was big enough that I didn't bang my elbows or knock down the soap dispensers.

While the room was pretty and comfortable, my room lacked a luggage rack for holding a suitcase when you unpack. We had two persons and we ended up using the chairs to hold our bags when unpacking. I would have liked a luggage rack instead of the desk or the dresser. This was a very minor issue.

Zurich is not a place for cheap accommodation but this hotel offers better value than most. Great room, clean and well maintained. Decor is a little quirky, but don't be put off by the photos the room we had was lovely.

Great location one block from train station, shopping row and being in old town it is walkable to all sights, restaurants etc. Friendly and helpful staff.

Small things like no tissues in room. No phone to call front desk. Only one plug in entire room for electric converter. One pillow not two. Basic tv but on a rainy night, would have been nice to have a movie channel or two.

Great location close to the station. Cosy room with super comfy beds and pillows. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast was an added bonus with a good selection on offer. Would definitely stay there again!

Very central to everything, 5 mins from the train station. staff really helpful and even lent us a plug adapter rather than us buying one. The bar downstairs was great for evening drinks and cocktails. Breakfast was 15 CHF

excellent location slightly quirky property - was only there one night and didn’t really use any facilities other than room but was fine for my needs - so close to central station which was what i needed

Would need some TLC because even if it is clean and reasonably comfortable it is a bit worn out in places. I didn’t particularly like the suspecting look of the bar/restaurant/front desk guy when I handed over the key at checkout and he didn’t trust my word that all had been paid for and wanted me to wait until he checked. I wonder if they have that many hit and run clients in Zurich which have given them credit card details, just wondering.

There was a dodgy plug on one of the light sockets. The breakfast was not very value for money. We decided to eat in Roots instead, but this didn't devalue our actual stay.

Lovely hotel with a great bar at the bottom. Uniquely decorated and comfortable beds, felt premium. Very close to the train station, less than 5 min walk, and close to everything in the city.

Only issue was heating was set to maximum and couldn’t be changed, so it was very hot and we had to open the window to sleep. Otherwise, everything was great!

Fantastic location and lovely boutique hotel very close to the main train station, central shopping area and restaurants. Check in staff were very helpful! Decent sized rooms, one of which had a little kitchenette which was very handy during our stay.

The location- it’s just a few steps to restaurants, pharmacy and SBB main station. Very convenient.

Tight bathroom- loose toilet seat and cover. Could do better with pillows- maybe add more filling or use a more firm type of pillow. If you’re a side sleeper, it’ll hurt your neck and chest area. We asked for an additional pillow but still it’s not firm enough.

Excellent in every way, as always when I stay here. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly and really add to the enjoyment of being here. I especially enjoy being able to relax in the lounge bar.

Rooms were a little too warm

The hotel is good and very well located. The reception staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Mark and Julia. The bartender was also excellent and very welcoming.

However, the breakfast had limited options and lacked variety, so it was not the best. Unfortunately, the hotel management is quite inflexible and not supportive if any issue happens during your booking, as they do not offer much help in such cases.

A quirky little hotel located just a short stroll from the train station. Just off the main street and around a 10 minute walk to the old town. Ticks all the boxes for location. On arrival a small reception area greeted by a lovely lady who also gave us some information about the town and a map. The room itself on first impressions does look a bit dated with some old furniture and wallpaper but it was clean and comfortable, bed was comfy and a kettle/ coffee & tea provided. Bathroom was a bit small but functional, couldn’t complain. All up was good value as accommodation can be quite expensive in Zurich. I would say the big thing is its location and even though it is in a busy area didn’t hear any noise.
