besides the restroom, everything else was great. there’s 24-hour reception, you have a socket per bed, you have lockers below the bed to leave your stuff, the mattress was comfortable, and even though you have to take a boat to the main island of venice, it’s just a 10-minute boat-ride (definitely worth the price difference) I do recommend you get the x-hour vaporetto pass depending on how long you’ll be staying because it’s a trip you’ll have to do at least twice per day and with just one more trip (maybe to murano or burano, or just along the canal), it will have paid off I was also able to work remotely from the lobby since they have comfortable desks and sockets, which was great and not something I was expecting so many people to be doing

my only problem with this accommodation was the bathroom, but it was a big one. I have been to quite a few hostels so I’m used to to having to share a bathroom, but this one was pretty terrible. there was a single sink, two wc, and two showers all in a very little space that couldn’t even fit 3 people comfortably (wc and showers aside). and all of it was shared between 3 rooms of 16 people each (there was another one for men, but still) another problem was that the shower only had a translucent glass, so there was little privacy, and the bathroom was flooded by night time if the bathroom were different (a bit bigger, with more sinks, and an opaque shower glass), this would’ve been the perfect budget accommodation

The location is top-notch and the prices (breakfast, cafe, etc) were also generous. It was cozy and very welcome!

Classic hostel experience: going to sleep and loud people coming in the dorm late at night. But that‘s nothing the hostel itself can be accounted for.

Very nice staff, clean and fresh rooms, stunning location. Really cozy hall and common area. Bed was clean with working wifi, light and socket. Locker was available and working given you had your padlock as advised. Overall very good experience. And would be happy to come back. :)

Bathrooms were clean but could use renovation and were quite small given the amount of people staying, so you had to wait at times. Breakfast was mid-to little poor.

Excellent location, away from the overcrowding that can happen in Venice. Very clean thanks to the housekeeping. Lovely cafes and restaurants nearby and a quick vaparetto to the main island. Staff were nice and helpful with any questions about getting the best deal with vaparetto tickets!

Room and bathrooms were very warm and stuffy, but there was air-con in the room tbf that just wasn’t being used. Personally I prefer hostels that have curtains on the beds for privacy. I also thought more effort could have been put into the evening social events.

Such a cool place - great decoration and things to do (games, live sports). Bathrooms were clean and each bed had good plugs and lights.

You can’t bring food from other places

Great location away from the city center but boat are very close by, great sunset view during April, the social area is really nice to interact with people, beds are comfortable.

I stayed 2 nights (3 day) and the toilets on the 2nd floor were always dirty

Location is good. It's not on main island but the ferry is 1min away with short wait times and if you have a day pass, it's not too expensive. The bed was comfortable and it wasn't very expensive.

I found men in the ladies bathroom twice which is a major concern as shower closets have transparent doors. There are very less number of toilets and bathrooms for the number of residents. And also toilets are not very clean. The ventilation of the rooms isn't good. For a room with 10-14 people it should have fantastic ventilation. I felt a bit suffocated in the night and developed a dust allergy(beds were dusty). Shampoo, soap etc isn't there. You need to buy everything. Laundry is too expensive (9 euros for washing and drying). There is no common kitchen. Overall, this is a good stay for one or two nights but not for long stays.

There was not a single drawer/ cabinet to place your stuff. Walls were thin and you could hear the conversations of the neighbours. There were windows on the top of the walls so when people from other rooms turned their lights on, our room were bright again. Probably, it's good for people in their 20's.

Very friendly staff! The bed was comfortable. Great location, lots of dining options in the area. Easy to meet new people to hang with.

The bathroom was cramped. Also they don't seem to clean it regularly as it was often dirty. They did not refill the soap during my stay there, despite the dispenser being empty for days.

At night the boats are a bit tricky they don’t come like a day we have to wait for a long time.

Checkin staff are friendly, main room facilities are nice and cozy, lots of games, a big projector screen that showed Serie A matches, decently-priced bar, and picturesque location on the Giudecca waterfront with a view of the main island across the water. Beds are comfy.

Bathrooms are tiny and not particularly clean, the floor was always wet, and was also out of hand soap the whole time. Towels are not provided either: they charge 5 euro for a tiny hand towel, which is a bit excessive. Would also be nice if they provided shower gel and shampoo for the showers. Hallway was not super well ventilated and occasionally a little stinky. No curtains on the bunk beds so no privacy.

Great location right by the water

Very thin, uninsulated walls between rooms. It was possible to hear literally everything that was happening next door. We were in a family room.

Spacious, magic and beautiful

We had booked a private room for four people, but one day a stranger was sent into our room by mistake. It felt unsafe, especially since we had our computers, cameras, and other valuables there. That’s exactly why we chose to book a private room.

The staff were very friendly and had a smile on their faces. ​The place was very clean and well-maintained. ​Overall, it was a smooth and pleasant one-night stay with no issues.

The location on Google Maps needs to be updated as it was a bit confusing to find.

""Cleanliness and good management."" I saw the main management every day on premises. He was cordial and engaged.

The biggest negative issue was the lighting in the room was sub-par. There were only four large/ high lights for the entire 20 bed dorm. There was no standard provided for the compromise of when these lights should be used. If someone else is choosing to sleep in until 0900, I should not have a duty to respect 'lights out/whisper time' until such time. The room had very little ambient light provided. Artificial light was inadequate. I recommend posting strict lights out time of 2300-0700. That way the sleepers have adequate warning and the early risers have adequate warning for their argument as well. This issue is compounded by the bed's configuration. The lights should be added between the beds at mattress level, in order to provide night lighting for the pathways, storage boxes, and floor luggage without disturbing guests. Even a small flashlight is more intrusive during early morning departures. You are leaving yourselves open to liability, due to safety issues, ie. guest tripping hazard in completely unlit walkways, even with lighting currently provided. Much respect, Sheila

I really liked the size of the bedroom and bathroom, the location is very good.

I didn't like that there's no USB port to charge my phone. All the hostels I've been to so far have a lamp and a USB port near the bed, which is helpful for charging your phone.

One has to use a ferry to go anywhere as there are no roads.

I didn't realize that I had needed to get the ferry to get in the location, my bad, but that transport is expensive so I paid what I could have saved staying here, anyway I think I might be worth if you go on a high season

There is no hair dryer in the rooms. You need to go to the reception, give your passport and take it. How much does it cost to buy a hair dryer? I have stayed in a lot of hostels but I have never come across a situation like that! Also, the rooms are really small, no space to move. If you want a lower bed, they charge you extra money!!!! Whyyy???

The Saturday night party went on until 2am in the bar area. It was a private party and the music was extremely loud (good music) if we could have used the bar area it would have been great but not being allowed and not being able to sleep either was frustrating.

If you are a young person who would like to develop the places I think that's the greatest place that you can see because in one room you can meet all people from all nations and actually really friendly there was not the place that you felt unsecure or unsafely actually it was quite opposite everybody was helping you out and I think that is the place that you can value the communication between the guests and also developing themselves to know more information about the other living country and etc.

Lack of respect from the bartender the story was really simple our friend was coming from the outside when he's to the place and he so our security guard which was really amazing person we don't remember the name but shout out respect to this guy really amazing fun and really communicative and our friend just shake the hand to his guard and when he saw that the bartender was also attending this conversation he suggested to shake the hand with him but the bartender in this case he refused to shake the hands and was really rude and don't even mention that after that I really truly asked him why he'd do this because my friend just wanted to shake the hand to respect his job what he's doing for this community and that was really friendly gesture which was denied from the bartender and he told us that his lifestyle to be honest I understand that the lifestyle for everybody is also personal but when you're working at the place where it is also really social I sing one shake hand is not a big deal and it does not gonna kill anybody so bartender zero

The bathroom was a bit gross

Absurdly good value for money. Located between two vaporetto stations in the historical city, neither of which are more than 5 minutes of walking away, a 10 minute ride away from Saint Mark's Square, and yet a night's stay costs about as much as a couple of drinks, or one main course in a decent restaurant - at least in the off-season. Practically designed for tourists, exceptional English all-around, both in signage and in service. The bar is excellent, with a lounge area at the ground floor provides ample space to chill out and talk to fellow guests. Easiest check-in I've experienced, even easier check-out; you literally just drop off your key card into a box and say goodbye. All of this combined with a level of cleanliness, both in washrooms and in the room itself, that wildly exceeded my expectations.

It's situated on the island of Giudecca, with zero bridge connections to the other islands, so to access your place to stay, you are reliant entirely on the vaporetto - but let's be real, if you want to explore as much of the city as possible, you're going to have a time-limited pass anyway. This mostly limits when you can start your journey, and something you should account for when catching public transport to or from the bus station, train station or the airport. My only actual grievance is that the room I stayed in had a shared bathroom with a door that couldn't be properly closed (a screw somehow lodged itself into the locking mechanism), and a shower that was only separated by a curtain. Though, given the fact that the rooms are, in fact, mixed (zero separation based on gender), certain... provocative signage, let's say, and protective items being sold in an automat, I kinda suspect that could be a feature of the place, rather than a flaw, if you're that kind of person. I personally wasn't there for that, so I'm neutral about it, but those who are sensitive to this aspect may be well-advised to put this into consideration before booking.

Location requires using Vaporetto to get to, keep that in mind! It was HOT in our room (during winter), couldn’t find a kitchen (probably there was one)

The staff was really nice, the common room was cosy and comfortable and I loved their board games, there was music, and a table soccer. The dinner options were cheap and very reasonable quality. I also absolutely loved the location super close to vaporetto, right at the water, calm and quiet, easy to find.

The showers were not very comfortable, quite small, no place to dry off out of the wet shower and the curtains didn't stay closed very easily, but other than that the water was warm and the stream strong enough. The breakfast was quite pricey for the quality.

All of the staff was super nice. Whatever I asked for they replied enthusiastically & with perfect English. The shared space is really cozy, especially after a cold winter day. The room I was in had natural light. The mattress was firm so I had a good sleep & the room was warm throughout the night (I was at another property in Venice before & the room would get cold during the night, unlike here). The cappuccino & croissant in the morning were good enough. Everything was clean. The Aperol at the bar was super good & only 5 euros. Despite my observations of things I would like improved, I would stay here again. The price was also really good, granted it was the first week of January so no high season

- I wish they would’ve offered shampoo & shower gel in the bathrooms. - Some downsides for me (not necessarily for others) would be that, unlike other hostels, you’re not allowed to bring your own food or drinks from outside. If the drinks are reasonably priced, for the food maybe I would’ve like to have to option of having a quick breakfast of my own or a light dinner (they do offer the option to buy, but it’s a bit restaurant price. I haven’t tried the food). - they have a locker were you can store your luggage after checkout, but it’s an extra cost. Usually the hostels I’ve strayed before they keep it without any charge - curtains on the beds & an extra socket on the bed would be a nice addition - this is not a downside or the property’s fault, but it’s something to consider when booking. The hostel is located on Giudecca, so one can only get there with the vaporetto. Take into consideration the vaporetto cost when booking, because the pass options are for 1,2,3 or 7 days. I stayed here for 4nights, so I had to take the 7 days pass to pe able to go back & forth. Otherwise the location is not a problem as the vaporettos are quite frequent & the stops are short.

A heavenly hostel! I stayed here years ago, before the general refurbishment of 10 years ago, and it was already fine but now it's absolutely stunning. The common room is wide and pleasant, the bar is welcoming and the staff is friendly. The rooms are clean and well equipped. Plus, as soon as you get out of the door you have the best view ever in front of you. Magic! PS once out turn right, then right again and you'll get to Pasticceria Stella, a simple but impeccable cafe.
