Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Toronto

The facility was beautiful, and location was fantastic! All the staff was super helpful, and especially when I contacted before coming to verify some questions. They inquired about our visit and I mentioned it was for my daughters birthday… then when we checked in they surprised us with a complimentary upgrade and had a birthday treat waiting in our room for my daughter. Will for sure stay there anytime we are visiting Toronto !!! Amazing !

This hotel is about quality and is essentially superb. Certain of the staff have misunderstood their market.

Certain of the evening bar staff have allowed their enthuiasm to result in over-promisng and over-selling. i explained to the lady in question that this was sadly not qppreciated by me. I prefer to wait patiently for the desired meal to be provided and not bombarded with false promises on timing etc. Also, the music in the Library was much too loud to be comfortable! This suggested a business heading in the wrong direction and is, I believe, not what The Royal York stands for!

Restaurants, location and service are AMAZING!

Our room was very clean but the design is dated and dingy and the bathroom is VERY small for two people.

Love the ambiance in the building as well as attention to detail. The customer service is top notch.

The location is excellent, the bed was very comfortable, the bellman who brought our luggage up was very friendly and very accommodating. The ice machine on our floor was broken, and he offered to go to another floor to get us a bucket of ice to save the inconvenience of us going down one flight.

The front desk staff were a little bit cool that they got the job done. You didn’t get an overwhelming feeling of being welcome at the front desk.

Beds were comfy; rooms were spacious; we were offered a bed on wheels for our daughter to sleep on which helped us be more comfortable as well; they even provided small robes for my kids to use to the pool; they offered umbrellas for use (very helpful); nice to view the photographs on the 2nd floor and the queen elizabeth signed guestbook; beautiful february floral crown display in the lobby

i did get charged for a "consumed" soda and water from the mini bar fridge in the room; that i think must have been removed before we even got there (i was super clear to my kids not to use stuff there and we brought our own and i didn't find any empties of the minibar fridge types about the room); but i didn't care to fight the charge since that's a minimal cost. also, the slippers were interestingly made out of cork on the bottom and fabric on sides, good for spa i guess, but they got grossly soggy poolside; simple plastic/foam flip flops would have been better i think (just my 2 cents)

The bed was a bit small for 2 people. (used to a queen size bed). Also, I did find the room a bit small as well.

Liked that they gave us an early check in time, there are 3 bars in the lobby and the valet was great.

Excellent dinner at Reign restaurant.

1. We did not anticipate need for to make a reservation for breakfast. On departure, neither restaurant could accommodate seating without 45 min wait which conflicted with travel timetable. Opted for room service which was prompt and excellent. A simple solution would be to ask guest at check-in, "Will you be joining us for breakfast and would you like us to make a reservation for you?" 2. Loud base-pulsating music in lobby bar not to our taste, prefer quieter ambience allowing normal conversational voice.

Nothing! It was perfect.

We were travelling by Via so a super easy transition from Union to the hotel, the ACC for the Leaf game and a visit to the Hockey Hall of Fame. The hotel rotunda and main floor corridors were beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday season. The concierge was most helpful and very polite!!

Fantastic and kind staff, and the location is nice.

For the price paid for the room, it looked dated and the view of an office building and a loading dock wasn’t the desirable view one would want.

Everything was great my husband and had a wonderful experience at the motel. Thank you again

The Fairmont Royal York hotel is situated in a great location to explore Toronto. You are in walking distance from the CN Tower and Rogers Centre across the street from Union Station. The hotel itself is very grand and steeped in history. Photos and signatures from Queen Elizabeth are on display in the lobby area. Our trip was just before Christmas where the decoration display will rival anywhere. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern. Our room on the 10th floor had a partial lake and CN Tower view. Bathrooms were modern, ours only had a shower which suited us fine. Room service was quick and the food excellent.

As the hotel is a landmark to Toronto there are a lot of people congregating in the lobby areas making videos for social media which can be a bit problematic when trying to get in and out of the hotel. It was also a bit frustrating that we could not get access to any of the hotel bars as these were fully booked. As a hotel guest I feel we should have preference to these amenities. If you will be using the bars in the hotel it may be worth checking if reservations are required.

The property itself was magnificent and very clean!

Getting on the elevators was a pain in the ass! They don’t really tell you how they work. It’s very confusing!

Disappointed that the pool was not available as I'd booked it for that facility.

The room was well-appointed and the bed was very comfortable. We really appreciated the complementary coffee (Nespresso) and that there was a kettle in addition to the coffee machine available.

The only thing about the Fairmont Royal York is that the rooms, especially the bathrooms are on the small side - beautiful, but small.

We loved our experience at the RYH the staff treated us exceptionally well. They surprised us with a treat and a bottle of bubbly in our room for my birthday which was very well received!

The location was close to everything. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holiday season. The room and hotel were clean. We enjoyed having a drink and snack in the center bar and had breakfast in Reign.

Three of us stayed in the room and there was only 2 bath robes and slippers.

Everything, there wasn't one thing we were unhappy with...we especially enjoyed the fully stocked mini fridge with alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. We loved the service and staff, they were so attentive and helpful. Everything about the hotel is immaculate.
