Perfect location! Friendly staff! Super nice rooftop bar and bar at mezzanine. Air conditioning was very efficient.

No place for personal belongings in the bathroom.

The location is great, has gym, restaurants and a roof top.

Staff aren’t consistent, some are more nicer than others. They gave us the wrong room at first because we asked for an early check in, it was smaller and by an elevator, extremely loud. Rooms are small in general. Hot water took forever to heat up.

The location was amazing. The gym had a wide variety of choices. Nice bar on the second floor next to a chill zone also suitable for working.

The water station in the lobby was very slow unlike the one in the gym.

Excellent location with friendly staff and gorgeous interior! The rooftop was also stunning.

The windows were dirty and no fan in the bathroom. I wish rooftop hours were available sooner in the day.

Overall a great value, given NYC hotel prices. Room was very small, which is fine as they have other places to hang out like the 2nd floor lounge, the downstairs cafe, and a really good gym. The gym included peletons, ellipticals, stretching mats, weights, etc. Better than I expected. The bed and pillows were decent.

rooms and hallways are a bit dim (need a lighting expert), there was a tear in the carpet, but these are all little things.

I loved the vibe of the hotel, its beautiful, everything was super clean and taken care of. The location was great, very well connected but not too noisy or crowded.

My only criticism is that the wifi didn’t work properly at the mezzanine, where I tried to do some work, so si had to stay in my room.

It’s a New York hotel so rooms are not much larger than bed.

The room was quiet and very clean, problems that arose were addressed immediately and with courtesy and kindness. The bathroom is tiny, but shampoo, etc. are provided. It’s a wonderful hotel for a few nights, affordable, safe, clean and well-located, with courteous and concerned employees and staff.

The bathroom is so tiny, and there should be cups or glasses in the rooms.

Room was quite dark (but we expected that). The attached restaurant, Patsy’s was good but very expensive (more than other restaurants in this chain)

Location is really great. Staff are approachable and nice. Lobby a bit dark & charmless. Responsiveness before visit was poor. Room was nice, but quite small relative to price / label (Queen Premium). AirCon outside will irritate a light sleeper, but they provide earplugs at reception. I would stay here again.

Some stuff is extremely rude, you need mln physical cards for deposit before one works, the room is loud due to air-conditioning that does not work in the room... the lights are flickering in the room and the room is extremely dark as there are walls facing windows, so no view.

The room was fantastically spacious, great location and great value for money.

Excellent location in Manhattan. The second room we received was much better comfortable, with a city view. Staff were generally friendly, and we appreciated the daily complimentary water and the kettle provided upon request.

The initial room was facing a wall, noisy due to ventilation, and felt cold. We had to raise the issue several times before the staff agreed to change it, and the process was not smooth. The room change was only possible the next day, which required checking out before 11 and waiting until the afternoon to check into the new room. Some in-room amenities like tea/coffee setup or body lotion were missing, and the fridge was very small. It was also quite noisy throughout the stay, although this may be typical for New York City.

When you are staying here alone and you like social events, I would recomend another hotel. I felt a bit lonely; there is no social culture in the hotel.

The staff is very friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable. The decor is very art deco and attractive. For the price, I highly recommend Freehand.

My room didn’t have much cold water. Weird problem to have. But the front desk removed the service fee from my bill and told me that the next time I stay they would find me a different room. Also the room didn’t have a coffee maker.

A LOT of street Noise

The location was perfect, just a block away from the subway. Flatiron is six minutes away by walking. There is Eataly right next to the Flatiron building, great for coffee. The hotel has a great ambience, very hipster. The lights are very dim. The beds were comfortable and had clean linens. The staff is friendly and very prompt to help, which was a plus. I was not expecting that. They gave us bottles of water during check-in, which was very considerate of them. We had an issue with our room that I only spotted the next day. The girl at the desk, whose name I didn't get (light-skinned brunette), was prompt in resolving the issue. She gave us another room right away, and with that, our problem was solved. The housekeepers were also very responsive in getting towels when we needed them. Overall, a great experience.

The lights are very dim, which hides the cleaning. The room was ok clean in a decent way; however, it could have some extra cleaning of the carpeted floor and bathroom. I have nothing else to comment. I still recommend this hotel for those traveling with a group and want a good price.

The room was too small. We had one case that needs to lie flat when open and one case that can open against the wall, leaving no room for us. One person had to climb over the other to get in and out of bed. It was too dark even though I know it was creation of the vibe.

The hotel is very well located and close to the subway. The rooms are a bit small, but enough and comfortable for a couple with not that much luggage. The room and the bathroom were very clean, and the cleaning staff was always very nice and attentive. The cafe downstairs serves great food and is very practical for a quick breakfast. Would stay again!

The mattress was way too soft and very uncomfortable to sleep on.

Great location for seeing NY on foot. The bar is a nice touch. Adjoining cafe makes great coffee and yummy breakfasts to get set for the day. We walked one day right down to southern tip of Manhattan, and often to Times Square and Broadway. Very easy subway access.

Rooms are very small, but not an issue if you plan to be sightseeing all day. Comfy and cosy to sleep. Clean bathrooms with hot water. We stayed during long NY freeze. Electric space heater made room a comfortable temp.

I liked the looking feel of this hotel. The bar and the bartenders are just awesome. Bar Calico is awesome on a winter’s night. I loved being there. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating during the blizzard. Nice cozy bathtubs and an interesting free spirited vibe

There was no coffee in the rooms and you have to go and wait in line for your morning coffee downstairs. The mini refrigerators are too small!.the doors:walls are a little porous-can hear noise

A cool welcoming and well located central hotel for NYC - really enjoyed the vibe, decor and ease of using the hotel.

It was a bit annoying that although it was a family friendly hotel there was no way of grabbing a drink from the bar and sitting elsewhere with under 21s - probably a New York thing but odd for someone from the UK and the bar looked brilliant.

The location is great and the rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable. This is my third time staying here. We especially enjoyed the coffee shop with healthy items and good coffee, matcha and tea.

I booked a triple and the description was 1 queen bed and a bunk bed; however, it is a queen bed on the bottom and a single bunk bed above. The stairs to the bed are bolted to the wall - just be aware that it is not easy to get up and down.

The staff was very kind and helpful throughout our stay. The room was cleaned daily and maintained to a high standard.

The window did not seem to be properly insulated, which allowed cold air to enter and affected the room temperature.
