The Hammock Hotel Ben Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City

Had such a great stay here. Beds were comfortable, breakfast on the rooftop was stunning. Good location and free snacks and water. The staff were all really helpful. Especially the security staff at the front. Shower was great.

It was centrally located, and had a fairly nice rooftop with a good view. Also, the AC was good and not blowing on the bed, which was refreshing to feel. They had free drinks at all times available.

It’s just really dated and you can see that it hasn’t been paid attention to over at least 2-3 years. Everywhere you look is dirt, the carpet looks horrible, every wall you look at could do with a brush of paint, every seam should be renewed as they are blackened/moulded. Not to mention the mice/rats on the rooftop. We stayed on the top floor and the shower water also didn’t get more than lukewarm even after 10 minutes of waiting The staff are doing their best but also rather appear to be students than trained professionals. The place clearly needs management.

Shower water wasn’t hot, shower drain was slow and the staff said it was normal! In room safe. It bolted down and mentioned it to the staff and she said don’t worry they have cameras and can see if someone took it! Some of the staff are not very friendly! The rooms need to be cleaned better as the bed platform was dusty. The whole experience was not a positive one as I ended up checking out 2 days early to move to a much better accommodation (would have done it sooner, but could not get a room for one of the nights). Ended up at the Odys Boutique Hotel that was pretty AWESOME!

Location, unlimited snacks and drinks.

Noisy hotel. Construction next door - drilling, and hammering 7 hours straight, starting 9am. Can hear upstair guests walking, stomping the floor and move the furniture. Primary school 100 meters from the hotel, can hear the cheering and the bell system ring. Most of these noises can be dampened with the earplugs provided, but the construction was too much. Notified the reception that we could not sleep in this and welcomed the receptionist to our room and listen to the horrible noise. Got asked to wait until afternoon for it to end. Very rarely did we get hot water in the shower at night. I assume the hotel ran out of hot water by night. We stayed for 6 nights total. Hard to really get some good quality sleep here.

The rooftop breakfast and pantry was definitely the highlight of the property. Staff were very helpful throughout our stay and assisted the best they could.

No light switches by the bed to light up the room, only an under-bed lighting. common corridor noise could be heard on each floor from the room. But not so much that it affects sleeping.

Beautiful room, nice hanging chair in the room, free laundry and courtesy drinks and food in the rooftop all day long. After 3,5 weeks in Vietnam, this has been the best place!

1. We were not inform of the ongoing renovation in the hotel. 2. Sound proofing was very bad 3. Our room was near the stairs and lift and it very noisy the whole night. 4. Every morning 6am the cafe near the hotel will play very very loud music and you won’t be able to continue sleeping. 5. We requested to change room but was told it’s not possible and only provide us with ear plugs which doesn’t even help. 6. There is no phone in the room or any WhatsApp support to reach out to the reception, you can only go to the lobby personally. Which is very very inconvenient. 7. The breakfast was nice only on our first day (American breakfast) menu will be different everyday and with very limited choices. 8. The toilet flooring is very very slippery and dangerous. 9. If you have any specific requests in extra towels, you need your inform the reception daily. Else they will not remember and note down.

Very comfortable, modern and well-situated. Amazing facilities! Excellent value! The free laundry is such a bonus. Can’t believe that is a free service: even the detergent is included. The pantry is a great idea and we enjoyed all the snacks and drinks. All free and well chilled. Unlimited! Tasty breakfast with a number of choices.

Liked everything! A few noisy guests in the early hours, which was slightly annoying, but we changed to a lower floor!

Great place. The best mattress. On the roof floor you can have free unlimited beer, coffees, teas, small bananas , water, instant noodles. Breakfast is ok : they have 3 options every day ( till 11 am). Very friendly staff.

Soundproofing is not the best. You can hear neighbours. But no sounds from outside.

The faculties were great and staff were super helpful. The value for money was fantastic and the fact that breakfast and snacks were available free of charge was a bonus. The location was very handy around a 10 mins walk from the main market and close to some of the best banh mih places.

The staff were really great, we could talk to them like family, they went above and beyond to make us feel at ease. Best time every visit, we will always stay at The Hammock Hotel, they're all beautiful and accommodating. Number 1, for sure we recommend this Hotel to everyone we know. A+++ Fabulous staff, can't say enough, they're worth more than a 10 definitely 😀

The property was very cute with a great location. I love that it was right above a nice coffee shop, the free breakfast, and snacks were amazing.

It was kind of expensive for what it was but when comparing it to other hotel in the area it was on par.

Fantastic hotel! Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We asked to be moved as we heard a lot of noise and we were moved to a lovely quiet room without any issues. Lovely roof top area for breakfast and chilling. Can't wait to go back!

Nothing. Went to the wrong one first but that was my fault

The hammock in each room and the swings on the roof were fun. It's centrally located, so it's a cheap Grab ride anywhere you want to go. There is a family mart just down the street and good food options on the road.

Don't bother getting food from the cafe inside the lobby area - it takes forever to make even the simplest order.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hammock Hotel Ben Thanh. The staff are so kind and helpful. The rooftop was a great plus and we loved our breakfast. We walked to all sites! We would recommend this lovely hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Hammock Hotel. Great location, easy to walk to all the nearby attractions. Staff have a really cool vibe, always friendly and I would ask them for recommendations. Really enjoyed the top level, where we had a space to hang out with our friends who were also staying here as well as enjoy the really good breakfast.

Would have to remove a point for the airconditioning going down for a day or two. Made it for a rouughh hungover new years day but the staff were always very apologetic and made sure we had a fan and plenty of water. We found a pool nearby and enjoyed the day there.

The room was really cousy and spacious, everything was clean and nice, great location in the city center. The stuff was friendly and helpful

As we were on 6th floor and there is really busy bar/restaurant on the roof top of the next building, it was a bit hard to sleep because of the noise. We asked to have breakfast a bit early as we had an early flight, but it was not ready until the official breakfast time.

My kids love the hammock in the room and the multiple power points all over the room. Breakfast was great too.

Comfortable spacious room in the center of a good touristic area. Minibar, water, snacks and washing were all free. Also the breakfast (3 changing options) was good quality and the skybar was very chic. All employees were friendly.

At times, the music at the Skybar was a bit loud. We had no issue sleeping, though. And overall the Skybar was a nice suprise

What makes this hotel unique is the hammock in the room. Besides the complimentary snacks and drinks in the room and in the rooftop pantry, there's free laundry service too. Thanz to the hotel management for its generosity and being customer-oriented. On our second day, water leaked through the ceiling due to a faulty pipe on the upper floor. A new room was arranged for us immediately.

First and second floors are free study areas. So the first impression when entering the hotel lobby was confusion. So many tables and so many people at the lobby. 4 staff standing behind the counter we didn't know who to turn to. There's barely enough space to stand at the counter with our luggage bags without blocking the walkway. It would be better to remove 1 or 2 tables near the counter to give more space for check-in and check-out.

The free amenities were much appreciated.

We had to change locations and stayed at the other Hammock Hotel - this was not communicated to us but fortunately we had family arrive before us to clear up the confusion. This is most likely an issue with Booking.com.

Breakfast was decent and the room itself was okay (room was clean, size of the room was good)

There was only lukewarm water. I complained about the lack of hot water but nothing was done about it. So, I had cold showers while I was there. Also, the walls were thin and you could hear your neighbors talking and doing everything. There was also an inch gap under the door so all the noise of the hallway came into the room. Finally, my room was overlooking a busy street so it was noisy until the wee hours of the night and then became noise first thing in the morning.

Great location! We enjoyed all of the complimentary amenities, including the water, snacks and beer.

Very comfortable and ‘cool’ property. Lots of local creative types working quietly in the cafe downstairs. Roof top bar with free beer and snacks was very nice touch - open 24/7 and able to sit in the hammocks on the rooftop until the early morning - perfect. Room was very comfortable. Shower was brilliant - waterfall shower with very strong pressure

The staff didn’t speak much English There’s constant people at the lobby as it’s a study area 24/7 Very basic amenities - it felt more like a private hostel.

The breakfast was a set menu and the hotel could have been better served with a buffet.

The staff was amazing. Especially the young girl with braces. She always had a big smile that made me feel welcome and happy.

Excellent stay ! We are a family of 5 , this place is miraculously close to every landmark one would like to cover in HCM City. We walked down to all the places. The rooms are very cozy yet spacious. Loved the fact that the room pantry was full all the time and totally free & included in the room charges. Th highlights are the Rooftop pantry which is open 24/7 with nice sitting area and Choice or beers, snacks , coffee tea all of it was free and unlimited. The staff was very courteous. Also, it has the 24/7 coffee Shop at ground floor, the vibe of the place is exceptional and the bakery and coffee choices were amazing !

Breakfast option are very limited and apart from the staff at the lobby rest of the staff may not speak English.

The room and location was perfect. Booked a room for 3 and it felt very spacious. They provide snacks and beverages in the lounge.

Breakfast choice. Anyway, there are two Banh Mi stores situated just outside of the hotel which was perfect!
