It was great - all the staff were fantastic, room was great - happy to stay there again.

Impressive staffing levels and facilities. Spacious room with large general space and bathroom.

The beds were two bottom mattresses pushed together with one larger mattress on top. The middle split was noticeable.

It’s the second time we’ve stayed at Shangri-La. It’s wonderful to stay

ABreakfast was delicious and hot. The service was amazing, we were met with a lovely smile and a good morning and then taken to our table. Lovely staff.

Bed was very comfortable, view was amazing.

Istead of 2 study areas there should be a 2 seater lounge for both guests to enjoy the view. No use sitting on window sill with your back to the view.

The plug in the bathtub didn’t work and the small things of milk not enough to make a couple of coffees so I had to buy milk to use

Flight recovery hotel

Great size room with full bathroom with shower and bath. Location and view from room was great. Bed huge and very comfortable, great pillows, Didnt try Altitiude restaurant, the spa was fantastic.

The electricity plugs seemed more european and my Australian appliances plug didnt fit.

A location whose view is first class.

Our Room faced West and that was fine. We always appreciate the standard of the rooms. We did feel the choices of food was less than usual. We've been coming for several years and always book the Horizon rooms with club facilities because of the view.

Nothing really but we did think the choices of food was less this stay than previously - even compared to when we stayed earlier in the year.

A beautiful luxury hotel with stunning views, unfortunately let down by poor operational systems.

We recently treated ourselves to a special girls' getaway in Sydney and booked three harbour view rooms at this beautiful five-star hotel in The Rocks overlooking Darling Harbour. The location is absolutely outstanding and the rooms were stunning. My room on the 23rd floor was spacious, luxurious, beautifully presented and had an incredible view. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the hotel amenities were excellent. The staff throughout the hotel were genuinely lovely and professional - from the concierge and reception staff to the restaurant and bar teams. One of the highlights of our stay was High Tea on the 36th floor overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House. The panoramic views were breathtaking and the experience was absolutely magnificent and worth every cent. We also enjoyed returning later for sunset drinks, which was another beautiful experience.

Unfortunately the hotel's operational processes did not match the five-star price tag and significantly impacted the experience. The first disappointment was check-in. After arriving at a luxury hotel, I was surprised to be directed to a self-service kiosk rather than being personally checked in by staff. It felt impersonal and more like an airport or supermarket checkout than a luxury hotel experience. Things became more frustrating when the mandatory $495 room deposit was charged twice to my credit card due to a system issue. Although the first payment supposedly "didn't go through" on the hotel's side it appeared immediately on my banking app as pending. I then had to process the deposit again, leaving nearly $1,000 temporarily unavailable on my card. Despite repeated assurances that the first transaction would be reversed quickly the funds were still pending by checkout the next day. The Duty Manager eventually confirmed the hotel did in fact have both deposits against my account. While she apologised and kindly waived my bar bill I was advised the funds would not return until Monday - 3 days later as our check out was a Friday . Another frustration was lack of communication regarding guest benefits. We only discovered during High Tea service that hotel guests receive a 20% discount - something never mentioned in any pre-arrival emails or hotel information. While the hotel itself is beautiful and staff were wonderful, the self-service systems, understaffed reception area and mishandling of payment holds left me hesitant about returning.

Location was great. Inclusions: Buffet breakfast was fabulous and canapés were great too.

It was a great experience: Nothing awful apart from an average afternoon tea which was included in room price.

Wonderful views of the harbour, staff were friendly, very clean and room service was extremely prompt and good quality.

You can hear upstairs walking around. Next door was yelling, screaming and banging (like they were smashing the place up) so it was extremely noisy which impacted comfort. Staff were responsive when I had to make a noise complaint which was good. I asked the maid/cleaner a question and she could barely speak English which was frustrating, hopefully I am not accused of stealing and charged for the towels I gave her!!
